"Fools who attempt to fight this will leave with allergic rhinitis!"Īt the start of the battle, Cagney is capable of extending both his face and his arms as a lunge to quickly lash out and deal damage. He then begins his characteristic dancing idle animation as the battle begins. Also, it seems Cagney is easily angered by losing and may have apoplexy since he appears to pass out from anger in his knockout animation.Ĭagney smiles at Cuphead and/or Mugman in an innocent way before suddenly roaring/yelling at them. His constant maniacal smile during battle also implies that he's either too overconfident about winning or he enjoys the fight more than he should, considering that his soul and life are on the line. He seems to delight in catching his enemies off guard with his appearance, posing as a harmless and adorable flower before roaring loudly. In his final phase, Cagney will have his hands planted into the ground (presumably absorbing the nutrients from the ground to make himself stronger), and his usually round teeth and petals will have a sharper shape, his stem gets way larger, and he seems to have vines come out of his bottom petal.Ĭagney is sneaky. However, shortly after, Cagney's stem grows small yellow thorns, his petals get a pointed tip in the middle of each of them, his orange cheeks completely disappear, his nose gets longer, his eyes become larger, and his leaves turn into long arms with actual hands. Parry Sugar gives Cuphead the ability to parry as he jumps instantly. This is where the Parry Sugar comes in handy. Because Toothy Terror Floaters spawn from pink seeds, they can be parried out of existence. These can be parried, but with all that is going on, it can be hard to focus them when they're so far out of reach.Ĭuphead will have to keep battling Cagney while these minions populate the field. Toothy Terror Floaters spawn a flying plant that shoots a pink seed out intermittently. These can either be avoided or shot depending on player preference as they are the easier of the trio to avoid. To deal with them, douse them with the Spread Shot before they get too close.īaby Toothy Terrors sit at ground level and make a small leaping chomp periodically. Homing Toothy Terrors emerge from long vines, slowly following Cuphead around the stage. Each color seed signifies a different type of Toothy Terror: Once these seeds take root, they'll spawn Toothy Terrors that attack Cuphead in various ways. After a brief first phase, Cagney will use a Gatling Gun attack to pepper several seeds across the stage.
